CURRENT PROJECT

FOOD DISTRIBUTION

The Global Hunger Index ranks India 94 among 117 countries. The course of the COVID-19 pandemic has made these conditions worse. The virus has disrupted global and local food systems, and India’s poor and hungry are being affected worse than ever. Millions live with hunger and malnourishment because they simply cannot afford to buy enough food, cannot afford nutritious foods or cannot afford the farming supplies they need to grow enough good food of their own. Hunger can be viewed as a dimension of extreme poverty. We at Help Nest Empowerment Foundation believe that no child should die from hunger. Our team has been working closely to gain access to sustainable sources of income, clean water, nutritious food, and health care, but there is still so much to be done. Our plan is to step up its hunger programs to provide proper nutritious food to the poor on a daily basis.

WOMEN EMPOWERMENT

Empowerment of women would mean equipping women to be economically independent, self-reliant, have positive esteem to enable them to face any difficult situation and they should be able to participate in development activities. The empowered women should be able to participate in the process of decision making. Women's empowerment is a critical aspect of achieving gender equality. It includes access to opportunities and resources, her power and control over her own life inside and outside the home, and her ability to effect change. Yet gender issues are not focused on women alone, but on the relationship between men and women in society. The actions and attitudes of men and boys play an essential role in achieving gender equality. Women empowerment cannot be possible unless women come on the front and help to self-empower themselves. There is a need to formulate reducing feminized poverty, promoting education of women, and prevention and elimination of violence against women. Women in rural India lack basic formal education and are mostly dependent on their husbands for financial support and lack financial independence for the majority of their lifespan. Apart from that, woman in rural India are prone to more domestic abuse and violence than their urban counterparts. MOTIVE BEHIND THE PROJECT: To ensure that women are empowered, the government and the public sector need to play important roles to enable their welfare in various sectors. Help Nest Empowerment Foundation has been protecting girls and women by offering training, education, counselling, medical care, small business loans, and other programs with the help of equipped and skilled staff. Our programs also aim at providing life-saving infant care training.

EDUCATION

Education means studying in order to obtain a deeper knowledge and understanding of a variety of subjects that can be applied in daily life. Education is not limited to just knowledge from books, but can also be obtained through practical experiences outside the classroom. Education is a powerful tool which empowers communities to turn around their lives. If any member of a family is educated, it can help coming generations to break the intergenerational cycles of poverty. Generally, in rural areas, where people rarely want to send their daughters to school, they think that education is not important for girls. Such a gender disparity in education is due to our society’s insensitive mentality, which sees women predominantly as housewives and family caretakers. Being educated provides an equal chance to be an employee and a professional worker. They will use their learning to improve their families’ future
